Manufacturer of Benadryl and Tylenol added another popular over-the-counter medication to the growing list of recalled products.
The last recall affects Tylenol caplets 8 hours 50 count, sold to the United States and Puerto Rico.The batch number is BCM155.
Last reminder was invited by the complaints of a musty odour or Moisie, says McNeil Consumer Healthcare .the ' smell, the company believes, is caused by the presence of traces of a chemical called 1,3,5-tribromoanisole.
McNeil said the "risk of adverse health effects is remote."
Reports of adverse reactions are complaints from consumers about a serious side effect associated with the use of a medical product, according to the u.s. Food and Drug Administration.
Side effects may include death, hospitalization, invalidity and other health complications.
The Johnson and Johnson subsidiary said customers should call 1 888 222-6036 or use the website www.mcneilproductrecall.com for more information on how to receive a refund or replacement product.
The company has issued several recalls this year not cold nonprescription drugs and pain such as Tylenol and Motrin - Benadryl prompting an investigation of the Congress.
